About
Laser Scan Chicago
Achieving the most accurate results takes a well-planned and executed scan by an experienced team that provides technically sound project management.
We don’t just capture the scans — we convert the data into actionable deliverables. Laser Scan Chicago has collaborated with architects and engineers to develop designs, with contractors to minimize project timelines and reduce operational costs, and with industrial plants to improve operational efficiency. We’ve even worked with movie studios to plan stages within their space, and to pre-plan lighting and cameras through virtual models.
Our team of BIM specialists, CAD experts and efficient project managers will work with you to deliver your project on time and within your budget. We use the latest Faro Focus 3D Laser Scanners, delivering high resolution data without disruption to your workflow.
About
Sergei Safonov
As a licensed architect, I’ve learned firsthand how every decision and project design change can affect the timeline, scope, and costs of an entire project. I was introduced to laser scan technology during a commercial project for a large supermarket in Chicago; we were tasked with documenting the systems and structures in the ceiling with the least amount of disruption to the building and business.
I immediately recognized the potential for many of my other clients: laser scanning affords high-precision documentation in hard to reach spaces – with minimum interruption to business and workflow. I invested in a scanner and started using for my own projects, but before long I was fielding scan requests from construction sites and fellow architects to help in documenting and managing their projects.
I’ve seen a real demand for 3D scanning in the current COVID-19 environment; this technology helps companies to mitigate risk of infection by allowing less workers on the jobsite. Virtual collaboration among engineering teams and remote monitoring of the construction progress keeps the project moving along without crowding the physical space.
